In the other sessions within this skill module, we have talked about the importance of developing a lifestyle that supports the positive changes you have made, and that fits in with your goals.
Developing a relapse prevention plan is the next step.
The plan will help you to maintain your current levels of health and positive mood, and to stay in line with your goals.
It is important to work on this plan before you are in problematic situations, and also to learn how to recognise your own warning signs for depression, anxiety or alcohol/other drug use. It is easiest to do these things while your mood is stable.
The last part of the SHADE program will help you to develop your own, personalised plan for avoiding a relapse. You can take this with you for use whenever you need it.
